Getting to Kyoto:
✈️ Tip: Note: Renting a car is generally unnecessary in Kyoto as the city is very walkable and public transport is excellent.
From Kansai Airport (KIX):
-Take the Haruka Limited Express train (75 min to Kyoto Station)
-Airport Limousine Bus (1 hr 30 min to Kyoto)
From Tokyo:
-Shinkansen "Nozomi" bullet train (2 hr 15 min) from Tokyo to Kyoto
-We recommend booking seats in advance on JR Central website
Japan Rail Pass:
-If you plan to travel around Japan before/after the wedding, you may consider buying a JR Pass (must purchase before arriving in Japan!)
By Taxi:
From Kansai Airport (KIX) to Kyoto:
-Taxi or Private Car Transfer: approx. 1 hr 30 min – 2 hrs
-Cost: approx. ¥25,000–35,000 (USD 160–220), depending on service and traffic
From Itami Airport (ITM) to Kyoto:
-Taxi or private car: approx. 1 hr
-Cost: approx. ¥15,000–20,000 (USD 100–140)
Other Travel Information:

From July 1, 2025, Peru and Japan have reinstated visa-free travel for up to 90 days for peruvian citizens holding valid e-passports.
For most other countries (including US, UK, EU, Australia, Canada), no visa is required for stays up to 90 days as well.

Credit cards are widely accepted in hotels and many restaurants, but some smaller shops may prefer cash
Please take into consiferation that Apple Pay is not available in many stores (including the big ones)

We recommend purchasing an e-sim through Hola Fly for the duration of your trip as having a personal connection makes it much easier to navigate and stay in touch
SIMs can be also bought at the airport

Our wedding festivities will take place on the 27th, 28 and 29th of March 2026. We encourage you to arrive in kyoto 1-2 days beforehand to adjust to the time difference, explore the city and settle in.
